TeamSport90 sponsor Louth Utd Ladies!

Louth Utd CrestKeen to support local teams, we at TeamSport90 are proud to announce that we have matchball sponsored Louth Utd Ladies who play, very successfully, in the Lincolnshire County Women's League.

Louth United Football Club was founded in 1947 as a result of a merger between Louth Nats and Louth Town. It is now a FA & McDonalds Charter Standard Club. The Charter Standard Scheme, if you are unaware, is best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for clubs working with young people.

For sponsorship we supplied two Prostar Venom Matchballs, the subject of our first product test, along with several Diamond Training footballs. We wish continuing success to Louth Utd Ladies!

Show us yours and we'll show you ours

Loyalty, that is.

For any purchase made at TeamSport90 during 2008 as a registered member you would have received loyalty points. This was just another good reason to register a members account rather than making a single purchase and checking out without one. Every registered customer will have a loyalty points total against their account which, up until now, was redeemable against a selection of our products.

Well our loyalty points rewards have proven so popular that for 2009 we're expanding them to cover all of our products!

If you'd like to take advantage of your points give our Sales Team a call on 0800 599 9090 who will be ever so happy to help. Go on, just ask them how happy they are to help if you don't believe me!

Think you know your bananas?

No, that's not a question about your mental state. I thought I'd just clear that up.

No, what I'm referring to is a51f's article post about bananas at the TeamSport90 Community forum. A51f talks about the nutrition in a banana and also some lesser know facts about the yellow curvy fruit which you may not know.

Check it out at the Banana Kid topic in our reference forum. Knowledge is power!

Teamsport90's big January give-away. Get your free gear here!

Yes, you heard me. FREE GEAR! We've got so much stuff it's clogging the place up.

It turns out our MD Mike is a bit or a hoarder and every time we get samples from our suppliers he just keeps it in his office. He's nearly as bad as that Mr Trebus but the stuff that I found in Mikes office is new...and not home to a family of rats...and doesn't smell of old people...anyway, you get the picture.

The gear I have seen ranges from footballs to sports bags even Goalkeepers kit. It's all new and I only have one chance of getting it out without being seen. Yes, you've guessed it, Mike's yearly bath night....so if I'm putting my job on the line I want something from you in return!

So I came up with an idea of how to get rid of it. Give it away! Before I get swamped with emails though I've got to tell you how you can get your mitts on this stuff. Just register at Teamsport90 (if you're not already a member) and send me an email or leave a comment here telling me why you or someone you know deserves it, that's all! After reading them I'll decide who deserves something most and send it to them. Hey I feel like the News of the World's Captain Cash! But I don't wear tights, not during the week anyway...

Fancy being an article or blog writer for TeamSport90?

Over at the TeamSport90 Forum we're looking for good writers to help out with some community reference articles. If you have a wealth of experience you would like to pass on or just have some tips or trade secrets that you feel would benefit other players please post a comment or drop us a line.

We have some great football gear to give to successful original posts so what are you waiting for? I'm not going to write it for you!

How about having a day off

But not a Benylin Day Off!

Yes I know you've probably just come back to work after a well earned break and couldn't possibly cope with having another day off, right?

Anyway, if you're patriotic like me then there's really no better way of celebrating your nations fine history then having a day off right? St George's day springs to mind so how about joining the campaign to make it a recognised holiday? The St George's Day Website has a voting page (albeit unofficial) to seek opinion on making the day a bank holiday as well as lots of information about St George's possible origins and history.

Head there now to add you support!

The origin of Football Kits - Victorian Era

Have you ever wondered how the colours and design of football kits came about? Well I have and I found this article on wikipedia.org that has some really interesting information in it.

Organised association football was first played in England in the 1860s, but at this time the concept of standard team colours had not come about. Teams would generally play in whatever clothing they had available, with players of the same team distinguishing themselves by wearing coloured caps or sashes. This came to be problematic though, and an 1867 handbook of the game suggested that teams should attempt "if it can be previously so arranged, to have one side with striped jerseys of one colour, say red, and the other with another, say blue. This prevents confusion and wild attempts to wrest the ball from your neighbour."

So wonder no more, head over to wikipedia.org to read the rest of the Football Kit article.

What are your Stock levels?

It's the one question we have a lots of discussions about before breaking up for the Christmas holidays; stock levels for the coming year.

As the Managing Director of TeamSport90 one of my main concerns is making sure the customers get the best service while we stay profitable to keep the business expanding and moving in the right direction.

We've all seen the TV advert with the phrase 'nice website shame about the customer service'. I think every on-line seller must have sleepless nights worrying about negative feedback from unhappy customers. On the whole peoples expectations about on-line shopping are changing but fortunately changing for the better. Customers who had never used the internet until very recently are slowly getting used to arranging delivery times to suit when someone will actually be at home rather than a pot luck affair.

Security is getting better for on-line shopping too, if only I could convince that small amount of first time buyers that we only send goods to their home address for their first order to combat fraud not because we are can't be bothered to ask the delivery driver to leave the parcel near the bin or behind the water butt where anyone could collect and steal it!

Anyway back to my point.

Stock levels from our suppliers in 2008 have ranged from being very good to, quite frankly, appalling. But supplier service aside, one thing is true; I just can't hold every item from every supplier in house, no matter how much I would like to.

Suppliers send us by email (most weeks) showing us their own up to date stock lists, stock they actually have in this country. As you can imagine we try our utmost to relay what we have in house back to you our customers at point of ordering. We try to keep as much of the top selling brands in stock but a club trying to order any new kit halfway through a new season and wanting the most popular style and colour is unfortunately going to hit snags. Most of last years problems stem from suppliers running out of colours of popular jerseys, shorts or socks. It's the one thing my staff hate most; getting a delivery from the supplier only to find what they said they had in stock wasn't actually in stock! It makes TeamSport90 staff seem to be incompetent and uncaring about our customers needs. I can assure you that they aren't and are as disapointed about the service they can recieve from our suppliers as you.

Updates And Improvements for 2009

We will be posting a special page informing customers of supplier lead times, any known problems with stock levels will be clearly shown and we will link this to our shopping area, making any customer desision to buy or not to buy clearer depending on how urgent a product is needed.

Also new is our essential kit buyers guide, this has been put together by the sales staff. It's full of useful information including a printing and embroidery section explaining all the things you might need help with when buying and personalising a new kit or equipment for the first time. Keep an eye on TeamSport90 News for this great feature.

We are currently testing the TeamSport90 Community Forum which should be going live in the coming months. This will have many great features including feedback from our new product testers. See what they really thought of the products they are testing this month as well as their best buys or recommended products for 2009.

We are also incorporating a buy, sell or swap section where teams who have changed or need different sized kit can swap or sell kit to other teams. Imagine how many pairs of socks or discontinued shirts are out there! Just in case you didn't know we can usually remove old sponsor logos and club badges and even numbers so if we can help out in anyway at getting customers hard to find products we will be only too happy to try and help.

Please let us know if you have any unused products we can add to our suppliers database forum.

Remember we need and encourage your input! With a view to this we are asking for community spirited people to be TeamSport90 Forum Admin and blog & article writers for the TeamSport90 Blog and reference section on the forum. Just drop me a line stating how you can help! You may also get some great free gear for contributing.

Many thanks for reading and best wishes for 2009!
